The new season of the top electric series gets underway at the e-Mobility Hub ACI Vallelunga
As the FIM Enel MotoETM World Championship 2023 season kicks off, everything is ready for the start of the electric motorcycle championship. At the e-Mobility Hub ACI Vallelunga, the official presentation of the season was held on Friday the 17th amid confirmations and new additions that will make the championship even more exciting.
The most eagerly awaited moment was seeing the brand new Ducati V21L zoom around the track. The electric two-wheeler is powered by a 150 horsepower motor, supplied by an 18 kWh battery and can reach speeds of 275 Km/h.
In attendance were Carmelo Ezpeleta (CEO of Dorna), Claudio Domenicali (CEO of Ducati), Francesco Starace (CEO of Enel) and Elisabetta Ripa (CEO of Enel X Way). The new features of the championship were unveiled and details were confirmed, including that the championship will have 8 rounds and 16 races, all electric, with two Italian rounds, one at the Mugello Circuit and the season finale at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
As the Official Smart Charging Partner of the sixth edition of the Global single-brand dedicated to electric motorcycles and of the Extreme E Championship, Enel X Way is in charge of supplying the e-motorbike chargers.
Our presence at this prestigious event represents another valuable occasion to develop and test solutions to apply to everyday e-mobility.
Wayroll EVO Race Edition: more powerful, lighter and ready for the electric vehicles of the future
The MotoE will have a special way to charge to be able to face all the stages of the Championship: the Wayroll EVO Race Edition. An upgrade, compared to the JuiceRoll of the last edition, with many improvements that will allow the motorcycle batteries to charge faster on the grid.
More versatile: a big leap forward in the maximum rechargeable voltage, which goes from 500V to 850V to support the design of the new Ducati.
Lighter: the new aluminum frame has reduced the MU's weight by 30 kg of the Wayroll EVO Race Edition.
More powerful: with respect to the last season, during qualifying between the Q1 and the Q2, the Wayroll Evo Race Edition MU will be used, increasing the recharging power up to 11.4 kW. Energy that will in part be generated by the solar panels installed inside the MotoE paddock.

MotoE 2023 takes to the track
From March 7-9, in Jerez Circuit the MotoE riders took to the track for three days of intense testing for the teams, marked by rain that slowed the motorcycle track times. The fastest time was Eric Granado who came in at 1:47:053, a good 4 tenths less than the track record set the previous year. It was a first demonstration of the quality of the new Ducati V21L capable of reducing times already in the first test sessions.
The next round of tests will be in Spain on the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya from April 3-5.
